About LIACjukebox

Founders and Creative Directors

LIACjukebox has been five years in the making.

Since 2008 Sophie and Phil have been producing, directing and organising charity shows which have raised over £30,000 for Myeloma UK.

With the belief that live music and performance can generate a positive uplifting atmosphere, their shows entitled “Life Is a Cabaret” were so named to encapsulate the idea of living life to the full, and aimed to provide audiences with a feel-good factor. This ethos is therefore so important to LIAC and underpins any work LIACjukebox produce.

Sophie Tickle graduated from Exeter University with a First Class Honours degree in Drama. However, her artistic interests are wide ranging. An accomplished dancer, Sophie is responsible for the choreography for LIACjukebox’s varied repertoire, and she continues to perform – recently appearing in the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony alongside Darcy Bussell. Additionally, she contributes to the musical direction of LIACjukebox and is readily involved in the vocal arrangements the group perform. LIACjukebox is a labour of love for Sophie; she is focused on maximising the company’s potential.

Philip Stuchberry is a keen musician with a real passion for contemporary styles. He is primarily responsible for building the LIACjukebox repertoire and is involved in the vocal arrangements they perform in their shows. An English and Theatre Studies graduate, Philip also contributes to the direction of the LIACjukebox’s productions. Having been involved with the company since its inception, he is relishing the opportunity to work with professional performers to bring innovative and challenging concerts to a wide range of audiences around the country.
